If you own a copy of Borderlands 2 but for some reason never downloaded the Season Pass then now’s a good time because 2K and Gearbox Software have now announced the Borderlands 2 Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack which will be free for Season Pass holders.
The Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack will increase the level cap for all characters from 50 up to 61 as well as introduce a new difficulty setting for players called Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode.
Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode is only unlocked when players clear main story mode on the True Vault Hunter Mode difficulty setting on level 50. Changes made in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode include no tutorial missions, enemies that scale with either your level or the highest levelled character in your party and players are now able to reset there mission progress whenever they want.
Along with all of that other gameplay features in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode include the introduction of a new version of the Loot Midget called the “Legendary Loot Midget” who drops well legendary loot items like the packs new pearlescent-colour weapon tier which are the rarest loot available.
The Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack will cost players 400 Microsoft Points or $4.99 and will be available on all platforms.
The Borderlands Season Pass is available for 2400 Microsoft Points or $29.99 and contains nearly $49.99 worth of content including the previous three add-on packs Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage and Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt as well as a unnamed fourth add-on pack that isn’t available till June.
With Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack’s new Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode and its raised level pack this new DLC will be a must-have for any serious Borderland 2 players as the Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode will definitely add to the games replay value.
