The Adventure Will Finally End In The Holiday Season With Broken Sword 5 Coming Soon In Two Parts.
For those of you who don’t know, Broken Sword is a point and click adventure game that originated in the mid 90’s which was immensely praised for its witty writing and engaging story. It tried to branch out into 3D game-play as the series went on but this was met with mixed responses but despite its flaws, the game managed to create a massive cult following so as you can imagine, people are pretty exited for Broken Sword 5 set to release in the holiday season in two parts especially considering how the creators have decided to return to the series’ 2D roots.
Right, now that your up to speed, the game managed to break crowd-funding records for the UK making a whopping $850,000 from kickstarter alone. The first episode of the game will debut on the PC, Mac and Linux on December 4th with a Vita port coming later in the year while the second episode will release in January 2014 on the PC with Mac and Linux editions coming later on.
“Whilst this is very much a classic Broken Sword game in terms of production values and sense of adventure, we’re really breaking new ground with The Serpent’s Curse,” says Charles Cecil, Founder & CEO, Revolution Software. “The success of our Kickstarter appeal has allowed us to be hugely ambitious – each episode is a full sized game in its own right. So we will be publishing two action-packed adventures in close succession. The response to those that have seen the game so far has been hugely positive – some suggesting that this is the best Broken Sword yet.”
