Capcom Arcade Cabinet Reveals Titles

Capcom Arcade Cabinet Reveals Titles

With Capcom announcing the release of their Capcom Arcade Cabinet we can expect to relive some very nostalgic memories. Now Capcom has revealed the full list of 8-bit titles that will be available to play on the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360. We gladly welcome back the 80s.

Beginning February 19 and running through early May, 15 8-bit titles will be ready to purchase digitally via individually or in packs. The games vary from the years 1984-1988 and by buying all 15 games the player will be awarded two bonus games for the low price of free. Come on now! I haven’t seen these games in years and there are very few actual gaming arcades around today. This is a very smart move on behalf of Capcom.

These games will also allow players access to the Capcom Arcade Cabinet ‘platform’ allowing more features including DIP switch functionality  a music player, and video capture and sharing. The DIP function allows players to adjust their amount of lives and level of difficulty.

As well as containing a Casual Mode, lowering the games difficulty level thereby making it more simple to get to the end credits. Which if anyone remembers playing in an actual arcade, was near impossible and quarter draining. More details feature a 2 player online mode, a global leader board, a training mode featuring infinite lives, and options that allow the player to choose the Japanese or international version of the title. The nine year old kid inside of me is jumping for joy at the idea.

PS3 owners of the Capcom Arcade Cabinet are allowed the ability to capture video and upload it directly to YouTube while Xbox users will be able to share pictures to Facebook. The features of  the sound gallery will allow players to listen to the background music for any game in their cabinet and the art gallery fills with each new piece as the player completes games.

February 19 marks the first official release of Game Pack 1 which will feature the title Black Tiger. Below is a list of every Game Pack and title to suit your retro needs.
