Capcom Confirms Resident Evil 6 DLC

Capcom has announced post-launch downloadable content for Resident Evil 6 which will contain three new multiplayer game modes, additional maps, & some yet to be announced goodies.

Survivors mode takes classic solo and team-based versus mode and adds a twist. Die and you will resurrect as an enemy character to attack your former comrades. Only after killing two human characters can you rejoin the human team. Last man or team standing wins.

Predator mode allows one player to take on the role of Ustanak, the fearsome Bio-organic weapon that stalks Jake Muller throughout his campaign, and is tasked with eliminating all other players. Human players must kill Ustanak or survive his onslaught until the session ends.

Siege is a versus game mode that tasks the human team with protecting a single NPC from the enemy team. If the NPC is still alive after time runs out, the human team wins the game.

Survivors, Predator and Siege modes will all support up to six players online and be played using maps from Mercenaries Mode. Additional multiplayer maps and other undisclosed items will be released as future downloadable content. No official word on the DLC’s release date, however Capcom promises the new multiplayer modes will provide new and exciting ways to enjoy the world of Resident Evil.

Players who register at ResidentEvil.net will be able to track their accomplishments in the new game modes alongside their campaign and compare their performance with others.

Resident Evil 6 launches on October 2, 2012 on XBOX360, PS3, with the PC release date not yet given.

What's more, the first DLC will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 for a timed period.

Will you be picking this title up? Would you pick up the Xbox 360 version over the others due to this?
