Company of Heroes 2, the highly anticipated sequel to Relic Entertainment’s 2006 hit military-strategy game, will soon be upon us, and Sega has announced pre-order incentives from participating retailers. These bonuses include both single player and multiplayer content free of charge.
Greg Wilson, Producer of Company of Heroes 2, commented, “We are pleased to be able to reward our most loyal fans for pre-ordering the game with this pack. These items will give them bonus single and multiplayer content to enjoy.”
Fans who want a little extra single player bang for their buck can look forward to an exclusive “Theatre of War” mini-campaign. This additional content will be available post launch, and will allow players to experience a new story for another part of the war. Players will also be given access to the “Winter Ambush” and “Voronezh Front” vehicle skins.
Also included will be two new commanders for multiplayer. Those who w
ant to play as Germans will have the “Joint Operations Doctrine” and the “Offensive Spearhead Doctrine” which allow for specialization in precise artillery strikes and blitzkrieg tactics, respectively. Not to be outdone, the Soviet side receives flamethrower tanks with the “Anti-Infantry Tactics Doctrine” and the ability to rapidly reinforce units via the “Conscript Support Tactics Doctrine”.

If the original Company of Heroes is any indication, Company of Heroes 2 should be a stellar tactical title. I’m not a big fan of exclusive pre-order bonuses, but this series has some pretty hardcore fans who will be buying this game on release no matter what. If this sounds like your plan, then why not pre-order? Not only are you guaranteed a copy of the game, but your get extra content free of charge; and I love free of charge!
