On October 8, 2012 after the high praise of his latest soundtracks on the RPGs Mass Effect 3 and Borderland 2, award-winning game composer Cris Velasco returns to create another musical master piece in the horror gene with a sinister and mysterious original score for the Ubisoft’s new survival-horror shooter ZombiU.
Already the recipient of the “Best Original Score” at the Academy of Interactive and Sciences Achievement Awards (God of War trilogy), Velasco is considered one of the most talented and sought-after composers for video games.
Cris Velasco has composed a mixture of action score featuring the rough sounds of detuned toys and instruments, carnival organs, distorted guitars, and haunting ambient textures, contrasted with dash of loving emotion of the piano and string quintet compositions to immense players in the horrifying world of ZombiU.
Velasco is set to appear on the Maestros of House and Sci-Fi Music” composer panel at the New York Comic Con October 12, 2012. The panel will then be followed by a Meet and Greet/ signing Session with Chris Velasco at the Metal machine booth.
Based in the middle of 2012 London; an outbreak that has infected the population, destroying humanity as we know it, and turning them into mindless monsters preying on the flesh of the few remaining survivors. This first-person shooter is set to strike fear into the heart of the unknowing; giving players all the terror, chaos, and tension found in the best of the survival horror games, and adds an original interactive elements, including a unique death mechanic that’s puts players in the shoes of a different each time they are killed. Then players are given the opportunity to recover their equipment and see if stay can live just a bit longer this play through.
ZombiU will be exclusive to the yet to be release Wii U, set to hit stores November 18 in the United States. The exclusive Wii U UTM GamePad will be used as player’s ultimate survival kit, nicknamed the “Bug out Bag.”
The bug out pad will contain all the games maps, tools, weapons, and supplies. Zombie U will also feature a unique multiplayer adversarial mode that allows one player to take on the role of “Zombie Master,” allowing the player to spawn and control zombies, while the second player fights for their life.
