Darksiders II Launches On The OnLive Platform

OnLive, Inc the cloud based on-demand gaming company announced today that Darksiders II will be available on the platform on August 20th in Europe.
This means that the game will be available to play on pretty much any device sporting OnLive support via an app, including Android, OnLive supported TV’s, PC and MAC.

Darksiders II gives you control of Death, in an action adventure game around 4 times larger than its predecessor before it, promising faster gameplay, deep skill trees and a new loot system, building on the strengths of the original title.

“We’ve taken Darksiders to new heights with this epic game, and we’re excited to share it with an even broader audience and a broader range of devices through OnLive,”

said Jim Huntley, THQ’s Vice President of Global Brand Management.

Signing up for a free OnLive account couldn’t be easier. An instant demo once selecting Darksiders II (depending on internet connection) will allow 30 minutes of play.
OnLive is great because it allows players with devices not capable of running 3D games, to run top of the range 3D games. It uses complex video streaming technologies, sending your controller commands over many miles of cabling and delivering a result as fast as possible back to your screen from their gaming servers. It is very impressive, and the service is getting ever faster with less lag.

When you sign up, you will also have access to social networking features including Brag Clip® videos which videos uploaded by users of special moments in games, the spectating arena allowing you to watch games being played by real users, and all-new OnLive MultiView in-game spectating which is currently in private BETA but allows you to spectate and chat with up to 3 other gamers playing the current game.

The original game, released back in January 2010 received an award for Best Fantasy Game 2010 from IGN
