Dead Space 3 Goes Kinect,God Of War Ascension Trailer And Metro

EA recently announced that for some reason Dead Space 3 will have Kinect support. Thankfully it’s completely optional and you’ll be using the Kinect for voice commands only which is just about the only thing that the Kinect can do anyway from what I’ve heard anyway. You’ll use the Kinect to find objectives, give your co-op partner health, ammo and to revive them as well as to use the static. To be fair to does make some sense because in good horror games your shouting anyway right. We’ll find out if it works when Dead Space 3 is released February 5th.

A new God of War Ascension trailer was recently released and its called “Evil Ways” after the music in the background which sounds quite good. In a unique twist to what a trailer is supossed to do, it tells us nothing new about the game. It’s another trailer about the multiplayer but most of the footage isn’t done with in-game graphics. I wouldn’t have minded as much if the trailer had shown something new besides a few new armours. Ok fine the trailer does reveal something new. At the end of the trailer it reveals that if you pre-order God of War Ascension from GameStop you’ll unlock King Leonidas from 3oo’s armour and spear for multiplayer as well as the Mythological Heroes multiplayer pack so basially the whole point of this trailer was to tell us that and if you don’t believe me here’s the trailer

Finally this morning on the PlayStation Blog it was announced that anyone who pre-orders Metro: Last Light will get the Limited Edition version which comes with three extras. First is a mode called Ranger which is a hardcore more where there is no HUD, less bullets but guns do more damage and is apparently the way Metro is meant to be played. Ok fine but I have one question, why the hell isn’t this in the game anyway because it sounds great. I hate it when developers take things out of games for the purpose of DLC. You’ll also get a modified Russian Assault Rifle and extra military grade bullets which do more damage but can also be traded for upgrades. I can’t be the only one who remembers when you’d unlock better versions of guns as a rewards for being good at the game right?

Anyway along with everything listed above players who download the digital version will get a Metro: Last Light theme as well as a free copy of Homefront. Sadly the offer is only available for PS3 owners so sorry Xbox and PC gamers. Metro: Last Light is scheduled to be released March 2013.

So I’ll end this with a question? What’s your opinion on developers removing content from games for the Limited Edition and also is adding the Kinect to Dead Space 3 a good idea or is it just Microsoft wanting to try to get some use out of it?
