In the second installment of A Journey Through Terror, EA takes us into the art of scares. This video helps to give us a rhyme and reason as to what they do and how they do it in order to scare the living daylight out of us.
Probably the biggest element to any fear is proper lighting and Dead Space is no stranger to creating that atmosphere. Whether it’s some mission object or the next Necromorph running for your throat, the lighting plays a crucial role in creating the tension the game is so known for.
EA said,
The lighting in Dead Space has been specifically designed to evoke a dingy and dilapidated feeling, to match the dated and broken-down technology that the characters use.”
Not only does the lighting come into play but the locations that EA chose to develop in Dead Space is what gives it that unique look and feel.
EA chose to use gothic style architecture to make human body parts spring to mind; and, of course, Necromorphs are specially tailored to give us that spine chilling thrill that fans of sci-fi horror are just waiting for.
