4Talent, Channel 4's acclaimed new talent scheme will hold a Talent Day in Dundee as the initiative continues its journey across the UK.
The University of Abertay Dundee has partenered with Channel 4 to become a host for their 4Talent Day which will take place on Wednesday 17th October at the Hannah Maclure Centre, Dundee.
The focus of the event is on Games Design and it will be working closely with the local industry to give 16 to 25 year olds an insight into working within the industry.
Present at the 4Talent day will be local industry experts such as Paul Farley of Tag Games and Jeremiah Alexander, a digital entrepeneur on games development.
Students will be able to take part in hands-on workshops and masterclasses ranging from image capture with Rad Miller of Pocket Projects and Rad Miller Films, to Tom Barrett of No Tosh to learn how to create a positive didigtal footprint.
Gregor White from Abertay Univeristy's Institute of Arts, Media and Computer Games said:
"We're delighted to partner with Channel 4 for the 4Talent day in Dundee, giving local young people the chance to meet creative industry experts and learn how they too can unleash their creativity and build a career."
Glynn Ryland, and Colin Macdonald will be present from Channel 4 will deliver the "My Job, My Journey" talk which will share their employment journeys which began in Dundee.
The approach of 4Talent reflects Channel 4's missions to break down the barriers and engage with a large range of talent as well as make the media industry more transparent to young people trying to get into this highly competitive industry.
Attending one of the 4Talent days qualifies people to apply for the Channel 4 Work Experience Scheme where 42% of of participants find further experience or employment in the industry.
