Guide your elite troops of soldiers through grids, bullets, and deserts in the turn-based game Frontline Tactics.

Turn-based games seem like a neglected challenge in games these days. Most publishers think we want to glue scopes to our head and gun down terrorists in real-time combat. But sometimes you might want to pause the game, think about your action and initiate a well-planned strategy like a game of Chess. Fortunately Thomas HentschelLund, founder and CEO of Full Control, believes that there is little turn-based war games being made in the market. So Thomas agreed to sit down with Mark S. Taylor to preview Full Control’s new game, Frontline Tactics.

Frontline Tactics is set in 2025 in the oil-rich nation of Fahrahn. A small splinter military group led by Akhali Muhamar wishes to claim the valuable land and national interests are concerned. You are given the task of commanding an elite troop of soldiers to quell the uprising and attempt to maintain peace. Even if it might involve explosions, chest-high walls, and other military actions that modern shooter games are known to exploit.

The biggest difference between Frontline Tactics to other modern shooters is the ‘tactics’ part. Instead of being a well-rendered soldier laying around in a hospital; you need to select soldiers for the right job provided in the game. Some missions require you to defend and control a location from invading forces, while others reverse your role to hunt down and wipe out the threat on their ground. You can customize each soldier with a variety of modern weapons, armor and other gadgets to improve their chance of survival. If any soldiers survive, they can improve their skill to take on greater challenges. However the AI in single-player mode will be ruthless and challenge the player mentally. Or if you still want to shoot your buddies like a camp-killer in modern shooter games, there is a versus and cooperative mode provided.

Frontline Tactics is scheduled for release on the PC, Mac, iPad and iPhone devices. No release date is confirmed. For more information on the game, visit its Web site.
