To celebrate the 4th July why not grab yourself a copy of Endless Space that has today been released on Steam.
Endless Space brings with it vast star systems that the player can explore, with resources they can exploit and a range of scientific phenomena to deal with. Certainly no lack of challenges then. You can choose to hire heroes to act as fleet admirals or system governors and there are five hero classes with their unique ability trees and specialisations.
The aim of the game is galactic dominion by guiding one of eight civilizations. How you do this is up to you, trade and diplomacy, finding powerful artefacts and resources or overwhelm opposing civilizations with your advanced technologies or huge armadas. Choice is certainly a big factor as to what people look for in games these days so Endless Space has obviously put alot of thought in to this one.
Endless Space gives you the task of strategically planning for the long and short term through giving options for optimizing your fleet and customising your various ships with a large number of special mods, leaving the decision making for almost every move down to the player.
Amplitude Studios has celebrated the release of Endless Space with an official launch trailer that can be seen at the Iceberg YouTube Channel.
You can purchase Endless Space as the Admiral Edition for £22.99 on Steam or the Emperor Special Edition for £26.99. The boxed version of the game will be released in retail stores on the 24th August 2012.
For those of you interested in the Emperor Special Edition it features a United Empire “Empire Guard’s extra skin” pack, a unique “Endless” Hero, and additional 500 G2G and a “Dev Team Forum Award” which adds a ‘Dev Team’ award on your Amplitude account profile.
