The old school punishing dungeon crawler is back for more with developer Atlus revealing Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan for Nintendo 3DS – it will be arriving in North American shores in early 2013.
IRVINE, CALIFORNIA – OCTOBER 4, 2012 – ATLUS, a brand of Index Digital Media, Inc., today revealed their excitement of bringing their newest entry in the long-running instalment of the Etrian Odyssey series, Etrian Odyssey®IV: Legends of the Titan™, to North American shores. The latest game in the RPG franchise is designed as modern-day homage to the pen and paper roleplaying games of old.
Legends of the Titan introduces a wide range of enhancements and additions with its series arrival on the Nintendo 3DS, with an enhanced 3D graphics engine designed to take full advantage of the 3DS capabilities. Enemies will leap out of the screen at you, intimidating your skills while losing yourself in its fascinating world.
"The Etrian Odyssey series is an enduring love letter to a bygone era, a time when the thrill of adventure; the rewards of imagination; and the satisfaction of true challenge could truly transport gamers to another world," stated Aram Jabbari, Manager of Public Relations and Sales at Index Digital Media, Inc. "While Legends of the Titan continues to be a bridge to that past, the series now enjoys its most technologically sophisticated foray yet. Enemies are rendered in 3D and practically pounce out of the Nintendo 3DS at the player. The areas to be explored and mapped have never been as intricately detailed and memorably vibrant. The wondrous music of Yuzo Koshiro is back, fully orchestrated and as epic as ever. At the risk of sounding oxymoronic, we're proud to bring our fans the newest, most exciting old school CRPG throwback yet!"
Etrian Odyssey IV plays like its predecessors with players exploring the gorgeous yet threatening paths varied in light and dark – journeying their path through using the touch screen and stylus. Players will punished to the fullest extent, giving hardcore gamers a brutal challenge, although a casual mode for any beginners new to the series will introduce them without feeling browbeaten. The customisation plays a big part in Legends of the Titan with plenty of character creation options to choose and party combinations to experiment with, rewarding those with a mix of creativity and imagination.
Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan is stated for release in early 2013, exclusively for Nintendo 3DS. For more information on the game, visit the teaser website at www.atlus.com/etrian4
