Imagine if your family ended up on one of those TV sitcom shows where your could win a fabulous prize: A new car, a lifetime supply of chocolate, a luxury cruise vacation, or even a new house. Now imagine that the TV sitcom show requires you to work with a stage crew consisting of angry monkeys, thwart UFOs from stealing cows, or jump over a kiddie pool full of sharks? If your thinking of Double Dare but just begging for lawsuits when little Timmy falls into the kiddie pool, then you would be right. However, I’m talking about the video game Lights, Camera, Party! on the Playstation Network.
The premise to Lights, Camera, Party! is exactly as I described above: Family TV sitcom show but directed by Tim Burton. A variety of insane mini-games are provided here: Saw a moon in half while dressed as a dinosaur, and then get smacked in the head by a monkey in the moon; bowl down a row of monkeys holding protest signs with an inflated cat; or swing a full pie of pizza over a lava pit into a hungry dinosaur’s mouth. A total of 50 unique mini-games are found in Lights, Camera, Party! Five playable characters are yours to select, and a dozen trophies await for you to unlock. Lights, Camera, Party! is a motion-controlled party game that allows up to eight players, but only requires one Playstation Move control with Pass and play functionality.
I always theorized that video games have more creative freedom (and less chance for lawsuits) over real life, and Lights, Camera, Party! seems to be a good example of this. Unfortunately you don’t win an actual house or a luxury cruise vacation while playing this game, but at least you can play a game that answers the question on whether you or your relative/friend can save cows from UFOs.
Lights, Camera, Party! is an exclusive, downloadable game only on the Playstation Network, released in late August 2012.
