UBM TechWeb Game Network, the face behind the Game Developers Conference Online (GDC Austin), has revealed the nominees for third annual Game Developers Choice Online Awards. The Game Developers Choice Online Awards celebrates the best of the best in online gaming. This isn’t restricted to popular MMOs, but also social network titles as well.
Star Wars: The Old Republic, created by BioWare Austin, is the most nominated title with six nominations. Social mobile app Draw Something, the Playfish/EA’s Sims Social on Facebook, Blizzard’s Diablo III as well as many other titles have been nominated.
Some categories, such as Best Live Game, will have new and promising contenders including Rift and League of Legends. Best New Game is one of the several categories that Star Wars: The Old Republic will be competing for, going against titles like Draw Something and Rage of Bahamaut.
The Game Developers Choice Online Awards will take place on October 10, 2012 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, TX during the Game Developers Conference Online. Mike Goslin of Rebel Entertainment will play as the host and master of ceremonies during the event.
Finalists are selected by the International Choice Awards Network Online (ICAN Online), which consists of 400 leading game creators from all parts of the online game industry.
