Microsoft have announced that the playable demo for its hugely anticipated ‘Forza Horizon’ is now available to download . In the demo gamers will be able to experience action racing in the open roads of Colorado before the games official release on the 26th October.
Forza Horizon is a spin-off of the popular Forza series. The game is being developed by developer Playground Games in association with Turn 10 Studios. Forza Horizon is an open world game based on the fictional Horizon Festival set in Colorado, USA. The game incorporates many different gameplay aspects from previous games. It will feature a large variety of cars and high definition graphics. In the game players will attempt to progress through the game by obtaining Wristbands through driving fast, winning races and other driving feats.
Forza Horizon’s skill system has been designed to reward players for driving with skill and style. Players will be able to drive, drift and weave through traffic in the game to earn points to increase players popularity and credits. Horizon is set to include the physics of Forza 4, which have been optimised to work on the 65 variants of land in the game.
In the demo, players will experience the fictional Colorado of Forza Horizon. They will be able to drive a sample of cars from Horizons line-up across a number of in game events. These Horizon Festival events can take place on dusty dirt roads, and street races over the Finley Dam.
Gamers who download and play the ‘Forza Horizon’ demo and then purchase and play the full game online will receive a specially designed 2013 SRT Viper GTS to celebrate Forza Horizon’s ‘gone gold’ status. This rare car will only be available to those who download the demo and later play the game online. The Forza Horizon Xbox LIVE demo requires a Xbox LIVE Gold account.
The latest instalment of the ‘Forza Horizon- Behind the Scenes’ video series is now available to watch. This video focuses on the concept of action racing, where driving with flair is just as important as coming in first place. Part 4 will be available to watch on the Xbox dashboard on Friday 19th October.
Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios have also have also announced additional cars in it’s rollout of cars available for Forza Horizon. The most recently announced cars include a Lamborghini Miura, Dodge Charger RT and the MacLaren F1 GT. Turn 10 Studios will contine to reveal new Forza Horizon cars on a daily basis throughout the launch of the game. Gamers who follow the official Forza Twitter and Facebook feed will be able to receive daily updates on new car announcements. They also have the chance to win Forza Horizon prizes.
The Forza Horizon demo is available for Xbox LIVE Gold members to download now.
Forza Horizon will be released for the Xbox 360 on 23rd October in America and October 26th in PAL regions. There are two editions of the game available, a Limited Collector’s edition and the Standard Edition.
