If you’re a 90’s kid like myself, you’re into the whole side-scrolling brawler games. The mention of titles such as Streets of Rage and Golden Axe bring back those good old memories of blowing in 16-bit cartridges just to get them to work. Oh yeah, nostalgia. On the note of side-scrolling brawler games, Mediatonic is proud to present Foul Play for the Xbox LIVE Arcade.
In Foul Play, you will be playing as the Victorian demon-hunter Baron Dashforth as he beats, pummels, and punishes wave after wave of enemies. Or… theater extras dressed in costumes? I guess I forgot to mention that the entire adventure is staged in front of an audience. But what’s better than playing the main character and beating up folk while an audience cheers you on in the background. Aside from a helping of General Tso’s chicken and a strawberry milkshake, I can’t really think of anything.
“Baron Dashforth is like James Bond crossed with Baron Munchausen, except set in the late Victorian era, and he fights daemons instead of evil dudes, and I don’t THINK James Bond ever put on a play… and everything he claims to have happened is true. Probably,” said Jeff Tanton, the Creative Producer.
Foul Play promises to bring a theatrical story which is set in places like Cairo, London, and more. Thrilling combat where awe-inspiring style means more than simply beating your opponent to a pulp, gorgeous animated scenes that change as the adventure goes on, and a two player co-op that allows for some interesting team finishers and attacks.

Foul Play felt like the perfect fit for Xbox LIVE Arcade and we’re SUPER excited to be bringing it to life on the platform,” said Director of Games Paul Croft.
