Free-to-play is certainly all the rage these days, evident enough with the many games already announced throughout the year, and even more so with the reveal of the new fantasy MMORPG DK Online.
Developed by RPG Factory and SG Internet, DK Online has flown out of the free-to-play gates with a bang, describing itself as an intense fantasy experience in a thrilling 3D world. The game has a strong focus on visceral PvP combat and wide-open massive war battles to bring it all together for the hardcore MMO fans. The developers have also stated that DK Online will have a large amount of unique and innovative concepts previously unknown to the classic free-to-play format.
Players will be thrust into the world of Latos, a beautiful land once threatened to destruction by the ruthless dragon Kharvag, who was eventually defeated by a group of heroes called “The Dragon Knights”. Your character joins the fight after many years have passed, Kharvag has been resurrected, and a new gathering of Dragon Knights is coming together to take on the fearsome foe once again. Regular players will see no shortage of fast-paced PvP action, as well as the massive narrative throughout the huge PvE adventure. Another interesting feature is ability to transform into different monsters, giving the player an entirely new set of abilities and appearances. – Gripping PvP Modes – The hardcore player vs. player action never
stops! In addition to smaller scale combat between individuals, entire
guilds can declare war on each other and act out massive battles. Castle
siege mode pits an attacking guild against a defending one, with
ownership of a castle—and its wealth—up for grabs.
– Legacy of the Dragon Knights – An epic storyline guides players
through a vast countryside and into dangerous dungeons as brave souls
strive to reestablish the power of the forgotten Dragon Knight order and
save the world from Kharvag’s hatred of all living things.
– Transform into Your Foes – The unique transformation system gives
players the power to take the form of different monster types. More than
a cosmetic change, morphing alters a character’s combat ability as well,
granting boosts to various stats and even access to different types of
attacks.
– Race and Class Choices – Choose from four classes and four races to
determine your character’s appearance and abilities. From a Human
Paladin to Lycan Warrior to Elven Sorceress, there are choices for every
player.
– Rise to Power – Competition in DK Online is not limited to physical
combat. Truly ambitious players will also seek success in the election
system. A multitude of influential noble titles are available; the most
charismatic and popular players can be voted to ranks such as Cardinal,
Pope, and even Emperor!
– Pick Your Server Type – Players can choose between Normal and Hardcore
servers for a playing experience tailored to individual preferences.
Normal servers provide a less intense PvP setting, while Hardcore
servers actively encourage PvP: NPCs will not try to protect players and
there is a greater likelihood of being able to loot a slain player’s gear.
