StandUpforGamesAid raises £ 6,000 for charities.
Last night the world famous Comedy Store in London hosted the inaugural StandUpforGamesAid comedy night. A capacity sell out of 400 people, which was a mix of games industry professionals and gamers, packed in to have fun and raise money. Imran Yusuf, ex of Sega, acted as MC and led a fantastic line up of stand-up comedians featuring Hal Cruttenden, Prince Abdi, Paul Thorne, The Noise Next Door, The Boy with Tape On His Face, Paul McCaffery and Christian Reilly.
All gate receipts went to GamesAid and massive thanks go to event sponsor Indigo Pearl PR and Trion Worlds who sponsored the Defiance Bar. Thanks also to Sega, GAME and The Comedy Store who kindly provided raffle prizes. StandUpforGamesAid raised a staggering £6,000 for the charities supported by GamesAid.
Rosemarie Dalton, Trustee of GamesAid said, “When Imran approached me and asked could we run this sort of event, I was a little worried that we would never sell out 400 tickets. Thanks to him, his fellow comedians, The Comedy Store and the sponsors, we pulled it off. I think we will all like to see this become an annual event. Raising money and having a laugh, what’s not to like?”
