SimCity is back and looking better than ever. Today EA posted a gameplay trailer for the highly anticipated new game in the SimCity franchise on PC and Mac, slated for a release sometime in 2013.
The gameplay video puts an emphasis on how SimCity is a game about choices and playing the game as you like. From generating wealth, to having the largest population. SimCity covers all angles.
If your creative inspiration wants you to create a sprawling metropolis or just a quaint town or village, SimCity has the tools to help enable that.

One new feature of SimCity is the ability to start your own big business. Be that a vast gambling paradise or just to create your own successful chain of businesses, the new SimCity has the tools to make that happen.
Aside from the tease of things to come, the gameplay video presents the usual SimCity gameplay. Starting on your plot of land you connect to the world, and from there, expand until you have yourself a fledgling city.
One change shown in the video is that there is no longer a need for dedicated power lines and water pipes. All the resources for the city work via the road network you build, making managing your city just that little bit easier to handle.
With the refining done to gameplay it is no surprise that then world is also a lot more alive than in previous iterations.
You can now interact with the individual citizens of your SimCity to see what they are up to, what their needs are and if they are happy. All this presented in real-time. Your Sims live in their microcosm as you do your day-to-day life.
The newest addition to the SimCity roster is looking slicker, crisper and more refined to enable the player to have the best possible SimCity experience and is certainly a title worth looking forward to.
