World of Warcraft Expansion Mist of Pandaria Garners Massive Sells

2.7 Million! That was the total first week sells of the New World of War Craft expansion, Mist of Pandaria which was released September 25, 2012. Blizzard announced today that millions have already joined the fight for Pandaria, an expansion to the world's largest subscription-based massively multiplayer online role playing game.

“With Mist of Pandaria, we set out to expand on the sense of fun and discovery that’s always been at the heart of World of Warcraft- in addition to adding a huge variety of new content and features to the game,” stated CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment, Mark Morhaime. He went to say, “It’s been gratifying to see the results of all of the work we put into this expansion and to hear all of the positive feedback from players so far.”

World of Warcraft: Mist of Pandaria presents warships of the Alliance and Horde confronting each other off the coast of the long-forgotten continent, signaling the start of a new era of discovery and triumph in the history of Azeroth. As players charge upon the shores of this glamorous new frontier and begin to explore its coverts, they’ll come face to face with courageous new allies, unearth ancient secrets, and play their part in reigniting the long-boiling conflict between the Horde and Alliance on a unordinary battlefield far from home.

The World of Warcraft development teams are already working on new content updates. Features and release timing will be offered in the weeks to come.

A special collector’s addition chock-full of bonus items is also now available exclusively in retails stores at a suggested price of $59.99. In addition, for the first time World of Warcraft players also have the option to purchase a special Digital Version of Mists of Pandaria at a suggested retail price of $39.99 at WorldofWarcraft.com, or by buying an activation code at select retailers.

Mist of Pandaria offers a wide selection new content for past and future World of Warcraft players. Features include a new race (the Pandaren) with its own starting place, the monk class, new continent for players to explore, and an increase in the level cap to 90. All new element will be included, created to give players more ways to play, including scenarios, a new cooperative PvE trial, challenge modes which off unique awards for mastering Mists of Pandaria’s five-player dungeons, and an all new pet battle system.
