The Halo universe just got a little bigger with the official release of the latest Spartan Ops: Episode Seven available for download via Xbox Live Monday January 11th.
I do beleive 343 Industries decision to create a mini multiplayer campaign inside the Halo universe was an excellent decision. Debuting weekly in a series of cinematic episodes, Spartan Ops tells the on-going story of the UNSC Infinity, after the events of Halo 4. By using co-op to explain and expand the story players can team up with friends via Xbox Live and dive into a new team of Spartans titled Fireteam Majestic. In order to play Spartan Ops however, one must own an Xbox Live Gold membership. Basically Halo 4 consists of two campaign stories all for the price of one game. I’d call that good marketing and it is Halo after all.
Halo 4 is available where ever games are sold and it comes in three fancy editions. The standard edition, which includes the game itself for $49.99, the Limited Edition, which features a 90-minute live-action digital series of the Halo universe. Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn. All for $%69.99. The final piece of merchandise is the Xbox 360 Limited Edition Halo 4 Console Bundle for $269.99. Now having seen this beast of a machine in person I can say it is totally worth it if you are a Halo fanboy.
Spartan Ops brings back a lot of what I loved about the original Halo: Combat Evolved. Playing with friends and having a good time doing it. The story is great as well and that is one thing that makes or breaks a game for me. So good job 343 Industries on creating a one of a kind Halo experience.
