Get your Excel spread sheets ready folks, because you’re going to need a lot of the best random-dropped weapons to take on Handsome Jack in Borderlands 2!
It’s rare when a game trailer recognizes an important element that distinguishes a game from other forms of media. No it doesn’t have anything to do with how awesome a pre-rendered toad would look like in a sparkling new engine; but how a player is required to play a game. What’s even more rare is when a trailer actually challenges the player to show them what they are made of in the game. Think you have what it takes to take down ‘Handsome Jack’ and his army of gold-plated robots in Borderlands 2? Better get started with picking up lots of guns when Borderlands 2 comes out late this Fall!
The new trailer for Borderlands 2 shows off the new classes in the game, along with the promise that there are lot of shiny new guns to pick up and fire. So far most of the classes seem familiar with the previous game (exception being able to give the bird to some thugs). The two that stand out for me is the Siren with her abilities to control the elements; and the Assassin (thing?), capable of sneaking up on enemies to slice them where the sun doesn’t shine.
Gearbox Software is already working on DLC for Borderlands 2 with the promise of a new character: The Mecromancer.

Judging by her steampunk/cyborg design, and it is a combination of mech and necromancy, I assume she will be the “general” of the group by summoning various minions. One of her features is she will come with the “Best Friends Forever” skill tree, which shall allow players to upgrade her walking tank ‘Deathtrap.’
Borderlands 2 will be available late September, 2012, on the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Expect the Mecromancer DLC later in November.
