Kirby will return to his roots of sucking and blowing off his enemies with a collection of classics – and not in the way you are thinking of.
When most people think of Nintendo, they think of one of the most memorable characters in the video game industry. However Nintendo does have other franchises developed over the years that might rival and/or perform better than the Plumber who always saves a princess for her 'cakes'. Anyone that has enjoyed exploring the world of Dream Land with Kirby will be able to relive that experience with Kirby's Dream Collection, now on the Wii.
Kirby's Dream Collection will contain six games spanning over 22 years, along with extra content explaining the history of the pink ball with a deadly mouth. Two games come from the Game Boy: Kirby's Dream Land 1 & 2. You can also get Kirby's Adventure, Kirby's Dream Land 3, and Kirby 64: Crystal Shards from the original NES, Super NES, and Nintendo 64, respectively. A new series of challenge stages are introduced in the game called Kirby's Return to Dream Land. There is even a special audio CD included with 45 memorable tracks coming from all the games.
Another game which is included in this collection is Kirby's Super Star, originally on the Super NES, and definitely one of the best platformers from that generation. Several games are included in Kirby's Super Star that change in theme from a classic platformer like a Mario game, to "Metroidvania" style gameplay. There are also small mini-games included, like a samurai showdown Quick-Time Event game. I can't vouch for the other Kirby games as I never played them, but Kirby's Super Star is one gem that really makes this collection shine.
Each game will let players experience the wild adventures of Kirby in Dream Land. Watching the cute ball-of-something fly, inhale enemies to copy their abilities or spit them out as projectiles. And yes, the game is family safe for everyone to watch Kirby suck and blow his way to success.
Kirby's Dream Collection is available only on the Nintendo Wii in Japan and USA a UK date has not yet been confirmed.
