Konami’s two new Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance trailer’s details

With Metal Gear Rising Revengeance nearing its release date of February 19th Konami has decided to release two new trailers to show off what weapons you’ll get as well as the Unmanned Gear trailer showing off some of the mechs we’ll get to slice up.

First let’s talk about the “Unique Weapons” trailer and now thanks to this trailer people can now stop worrying the Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will end up like Ninja Gaiden 3 with only one weapon in-game and the rest as DLC.

Sadly however the trailer only has three weapons in it, all of them shown in the hands of one of the games bosses first so it looks like where going to have to use the sword for a while first anyway. The three weapons are a pole arm called the “L’ Ètranger” that can also be used as a whip, an electric Tactical Sai called “Dystopia” and pincer blades called “Bloodlust”.Metal-Gear-Rising-Revengeance-3

All the weapons will be upgradable after you buy them. Interesting thing to note is that with the exception of the “L ‘Ètranger” Raiden is also using his normal blade in his other hand.

But what good is having interesting weapons if there’s nothing cool to fight against so now would be a good time to talk about the “Unmanned Gears” trailer. The trailer itself shows four of the unmanned gears you’ll get to fight. First there’s the Gekko’s or Irving’s that fans may remember from MGS 4 since Raiden took out a couple of them in his first scene and y there still mooing and now come in a stylist black paint job as well.

Next up are the gorilla like Mastiffs who are close quarter fighters that can throw you onto the ground and start pounding away at you like a UFC fighter on steroids and are armed with what appear to be grenade launcher as well.

Along with the robotic gorillas are robotic dinosaurs of all things which are creatively called Raptors who can stun you and are armed with rocket launchers and will apparently be hunting in packs. Finally there are the Grads who seem to be a better armed and armored version of the Irving’s who don’t moo. They also have a spinning low kick attack to help keep you at a distance.

So that’s both of the new Metal Gear Rising; Revengeance trailers and while it is nice to see some of the other weapons you’ll get to use, I do hope that they don’t do what Ninja Gaiden 3 did and make any other weapons DLC but anyway as Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance gets closer to its release date hopefully they’ll slow down with all of the trailers so there’s some surprises left like what will they’ll do with those Metal Gear Ray’s that appeared in the early trailer.
