It is the year of Luigi and that means a lot more games from the Italian plumber. Mario’s twin brother starts out this year by starring in the haunted house adventure game Luigi’s Mansion 2.
Luigi’s Mansion 2 sparks the start of the green plumbers year, with plenty more games to follow. Following up the first game released for the GameCube, Luigi’s Mansion, the second game follows Luigi through a many haunted mansions getting rid of ghosts and solving puzzles all while searching for pieces of an item called the Dark Moon. By using his handy Polergust 5,000 vacuum cleaner, Luigi must suck up the fun yet mischievous spirits of the mansions. He is also equipped with a powerful flashlight that allows him to stun the ghouls then use the Poltergust to suck them up. Play with friends in the new multiplayer mode and search for hidden treasure and unlock challenging puzzles in the Thrill Tower.
Luigi will be getting many games with his face as the main hero this year. Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said that 2013 will feature games such as a brand new Mario and Luigi RPG for the Nintendo 3DS. The game will follow Luigi’s dreams as he solves puzzles and battles a plethora of enemies with many other Luigi characters. Luigi will also be starring in Mario Golf: World Tour on the Wii U. Use the Miiverse to interactive with other members of the Year of Luigi Community and discuss your favorite moment in Luigi history. Coming up this year new downloadable content will be 
available for New Super Mario Bros. U that will change the game’s existing 80 plus courses into new courses called New Super Luigi U.
Luigi’s Mansion 2 is out now for the Nintendo 3DS. I got a chance to play the first mission and it is fantastic. I loved the first game and I am very satisfied with the feel this one has.
Put on some green and sport a mustache in honor of the green plumber. The Year of Luigi is shaping up to be a great one and look forward to all things Luigi.
