According to an announcement made November 8th, Joshua R. Mosley and David Kates will be composing a score based on the animated movie Mass Effect: Paragon Lost. The score will be available by way of ITunes November 29th.
Production IG’s (Ghost in a Shell) animated film Mass Effect: Paragon Lost based upon the mash hit BioWare RPG Mass Effect, will feature an original composition score by award-winning transmedia composers Joshua R. Mosley (Max Steel vs. The Toxic Legion) and David Kates (Mass Effect 1 and 2)
Funimation will be responsible for releasing the original composition for digital download on ITunes and other digital music retailers to coincide with the film’s one night only theater release day on November 29th at many different theaters across the country.
Lead composer Joshua R. Mosley has won many awards, including seven Telly Awards, an Aurora Award, and an Apex Award.
David Kates has also many accomplishments under his belt; he has received a Best Original Music Award form IGN for both Mass Effect 1 and 2, and Spike TV Video Game Award nominations for Best original score.
Mosley and Kate intend ot immerse fans into the Mass Effect universe by creating a dramatic orchestral using 80’s electronic sci-fi elements.
“Our goal through all of this was always to find deeper meaning, the humanity of you will- while also capturing that Mass Effect essence that we all know and love,” stated Mosley and Kates regarding their work with the Mass Effect composition. “We believe we have expressed that through the musical score and are very excited to share this with the Mass Effect fans”.
Mass Effect: Paragon of the Lost is a prequel to Mass Effect 3. The film will follow the earlier stages of Alliance Marine James Vega, as he lead an elite Special Forces squad against the Collectors.
James Vega will be voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr. The film is directed by Atsushi Takeuchi.
