Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. has recently announced that Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection will be released in America on July 9th.
Oh and in case you don’t know for some reason Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection will only be released on the PS3 despite the fact that the previous HD collection was released on the Xbox 360.
Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection is being released to celebrate the franchises 25th anniversary and this is one hell of a birthday present as the Legacy Collection comes with for the most part every single game in the series.
The package will contain Metal Gear Solid 1, Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Collection, Metal Gear Solid 3: HD Collection, Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Collection as well as the original Metal Gear 1 and 2. The collection also for some reason contains Metal Gear Solid VR Missions which is basically Metal Gear Solid 1 special edition.
The only game this package is actually missing is the PSP’s Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops game which is sad because it’s a pretty good entry in the series.
The Legacy Collection will also come with two Ashley Wood digital graphics novels which are being released in North America for the first time as well as a 100 page art book which highlighting from across the globe throughout the series 25 years.
I do however have to ask why Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection isn’t coming out for the Xbox 360 when you take into account that one of the main complaints about the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection was that Metal Gear Solid 1 and 4 wasn’t in the HD Collection which is annoying since Metal Gear Solid 1 and 4 are the only entries in the series not on the Xbox 360.
Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection will be released only on the PS3 on July 9th for $49.99.
