Xbox owners rewarded for high Gamerscore, Live tenure
So Microsoft is giving out full versions of Rare’s classic arcade fighting game Killer Instinct apparently. Xbox owners across various regions have received the gift via the e-mail below. Microsoft has confirmed the promotion is legitimate and said that it targets users with a variety of criteria which include Gamerscore and Xbox Live tenure.
Now, I’m a bit bummed because I myself did not get one. I’ve got about 8 years tenure and a Gamerscore that would make you weep, but that’s cool Microsoft -go ahead and forget about me. As seen below the email reads: “You’re a fan of us and we’re a fan of yours. Thank you for your dedication to Xbox. We want to show you our appreciation so we’re giving you Killer Instinct. The email continues: “We’ve unlocked all characters so you can hit the ground running. Watch your inbox on 22 November for instructions on how to claim your free gift.”
Killer Instinct is a reboot of Rare’s classic arcade and Super Nintendo fighting game. It will release for Xbox One at launch on November 22 and will be free-to-play with a single playable character. There will also be a “Combo Breaker pack” will include the first eight characters for $19.99 and an Ultra Edition which includes everything above and character accessory packs, character costumes and the original “Killer Instinct” arcade game; all of which can be yours for $39.99.
Here’s hoping we all get a code, me especially. In the meantime I’m going to practice my C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER voice until launch day.
