Arkadia Studios have announced a strategic partnership with Asia’s premier e-payment provider, MOL – Money Online. This follows the recent announcement from Entropia Universe platform MindArk of its introduction of MOL as a payment provider.
Money Online work with over 200 games publishers globally. They also leverage a network of over 360,000 physical payment channels across the Asia Pacific region. Money Online customers currently use their local currency to buy MOL Points. These can be used to purchase games with any of MOL’s 200 game partnerships. MOL Points are designed as a method of buying games for those who do not have credit cards. The partnership will allow gamers to deposit into Arkadia without the need for credit card worries.
Arkadia Studios CEO David Dobson spoke about the partnership saying:
‘We are very excited to have MOL as an Entropia Universe payment provider.” … “This enables MOL to move ahead with its plans to promote Planet Arkadia in Singapore and across Asia to its tens of millions of customers. People who already pay to play games online.’
MindArk is the developer and publisher of Entropia Universe. Enropia Universe is a game space that encompasses real economy MMO games in the world. Entropia World offers gamers the ability to participate in a unique monthy world with no added monthly costs. The Entropia Universe is comprised of over 950,000 accounts worldwide.
Dobson continued speaking about the partnership adding:
“MOL handles over 60 million transactions per year, processing an annual payment volume of US $500 million.”… “So as a huge business, they are very well placed to promote Planet Arkadia to a large demographic who previously couldn’t really access it.’”
As part of the agreement, Money Online will make limited edition Arkadia-themed MOL prepaid cards. These will be distributed in December 2012 to over 750 touch points in Singapore.
