For the first edition of My Epic Loot! I thought it would be fun to share what my 200 plus hours spent in Diablo 3 has brought me. I highly value stats that increase survivability and currently run a storm mage wizard build. Without further ado, here is my epic loot!
Head
I picked this beast of a helmet off of a treasure goblin in Act III. It’s an impressive item, especially for anyone using lightning damage. All the roll values are excellent, but what really sets this Stormcrow apart from all the others is the critical hit chance; which is not a core attribute.
Amulet
A good amulet is hard to come by. The Spirit of Adventure amulet makes up a core part of my Magic Find Gear, which will slowly go away as I paragon up. What’s really awesome about this amulet is the set attributes when combined with the Wanderlust Ring: +100 vitality and 50% critical hit damage. The Endless Journey set is a great way to improve your magic find without sacrificing damage or vitality.
Every time I start to go over the 375% magic find limit I get to replace a piece of my MF gear. One day, I will thoroughly enjoy this amulet which I found in Act III off a white mob. It does not have intelligence, but based on the calculated damage improvement, so what?
Shoulders
Won’t lie, it’s not epic. At best it’s decent magic find gear.
Chest
I’ve been waiting for a Tyrael’s Might to drop since May 15th, to no avail. So I decided to go to the Auction House for this one. 12 million gold later, which is really cheap actually, I am zipping through Act III thanks to the improve movement speed.
Gloves
Attack speed & critical hit chance all in the same glove? Nice! The only thing that would make this truly epic is if it also had increased critical hit damage as well. Found these off an elite pack in the Caverns of Frost.
Bracers
I should probably upgrade these. The critical hit chance is nice, but I would like something with intelligence as well.
Rings
The Wanderlust is part of the Endless Journey set and in addition to the set attributes it also brings more movement speed!
The Prophetic Faze at first does not seem all that remarkable. I actually found it in Act I when Diablo 3 first came out. To be fair, most of the other rings I’ve come across have been pure garbage. So I will probably need to hit the Auction House soon.
Wand
If you couldn’t tell already I am a big fan of movement speed and attack speed. Chantodo’s Will adds some beefy attack speed without compromising the damage output. Some Chantodo’s actually have an additional attack speed% roll, but be wary because these rolls actually have a large drop in damage. Set attributes are fairly decent.
Source
Chantodo’s Force comes in a variety of flavors with damage ranges from puny to omnipotent. What’s really impressive on this roll is the super high Intelligence and perfect critical hit chance. Oh, and there’s that attack speed again.
Belt
Definitely good MF Gear because it aids in survivability. All Resist is definitely a nice feature, although I’ve found you really need a lot of it to see any noticeable difference.
Pants
There are definitely better pants out there, but these have some fairly large vitality and armor numbers.
Boots
Yes here they are, and everyone’s got them. Well why not, they are awesome for kiting and look nice. I picked these up on the Auction House for a cool million, however I am still looking for a better roll.
Other Epic Items
My Witchdoctor friend nearly cried when I told him I sold this amazing mojo for nearly 90 million gold.
This hammer currently lingers with my Barbarian with the hopes that Blizzard will allow Paragon levels to cross characters one day. Here’s hoping.
Putting it all together…
All in all not a bad haul. Let’s hope patch 1.05 improves the drop rate so we can continue to get epic loot. Think there’s a better choice of gear for my storm mage? Let me know in the comment section below.
