Nintendo and Capcom have unveiled new features of their upcoming game Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate. Capcom’s popular fantasy action franchise Monster Hunter will return to America and Europe next year. Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate is set for release for release on the Wii U and 3DS in March 2013 and is an enhanced edition of Monster Hunter Tri.
In Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate players take on the role of a hunter who is sent to explore the Monster Hunter Universe. In the game, players will complete quests on their journey to seek and slay monsters whilst improving their own skills and earning equipment upgrades. Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate Edition offers over 200 quests and a range of challenging monsters to defeat in the largest game in the series.
Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate also utilises the functionalities of both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS consoles. The touch screen feature of Monster Hunter 3 on the Wii U and 3DS will allow players to quickly access in-game books, weapons, field maps and mini games.
Capcom have already stated that the Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate world will feature high quality graphics on Wii U and impressive 3D visuals on 3DS. The visuals are powered by the latest iteration of Capcom’s MT Framework meaning that the games graphics will be better than ever.
Nintendo 3DS players will be able to take advantage of the consoles portability and exchange their guild cards via Nintendo StreetPass. Their player card contains their gaming information and hunter statistics. 3DS players will also be able to search for hunters in their area using the local 3DS search feature.
Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate can be played alone or in four player local multiplayer using the Nintendo 3DS. In multiplayer, players will be able to find nearby hunters using the 3DS search feature. Wii U players will also be able to hunt with 3DS players via a local wireless connection.
Gamers will be to take advantage of the inter compatibility of the games on both consoles. Players will able to play the game on Wii U and then continue using the same save file when they leave the house on their 3DS. This should create a truly portable Monster Hunter experience.
Players will also be able to take advantage of the games new companion system. Hunters will work alongside their two companions, Cha-Cha and Kayamba. Both companions will be able to help players meet their goal.
