With the release date for Pokemon X and Y coming closer it only makes sense for Game Freak to release trailers to hype up the new Pokémon but in an odd decision the latest trailer only shows one Pokémon.
The new Pokémon in question hasn’t been named yet but it appears that the Mewtwo family just gained a new member. The new Pokémon has an interesting look and the trailer shows that it can use moves from a lot of types meaning that as long as it has good stats it could see a lot of competitive play.
It’s sort of odd that Game Freak decided to release an entire trailer for only one Pokémon but it’ll probably have some degree of impact in the plot because it’s had more screen time so far than X and Y’s cover Pokémon. Either that or they’re just hyping it up so they can make it the star of a new Pokémon movie.

While not much is known about the newest member of the Mewtwo family the trailer that revealed it is called “New Mewtwo Form Official English Gameplay” so that rules out it being an evolution for Mew sadly but since the trailer is called New Mewtwo Form it makes me think that maybe there will be an item you can equip to it to change it into the new form, it wouldn’t be the first time that Pokémon change their appearance with an item.
So with it looking like Mewtwo is getting at the very least a new form I have to wonder if anymore first generations Pokémon are finally going to get a evolution.
