Independent video game developer NeoCoreGames in the newest gameplay trailer of their upcoming action RPG — The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing — presents how players can boost their skills via Rage system to perform huge attacks causing massive amount of damage among foes.
During fierce battles Van Helsing will fill his Rage meter by killing opponents. These rage points can be utilized to boost character’s skills and wreack havoc on enemies. Every active skill in game will have three types of PowerUps to choose from. Players can combine PowerUps in order to achieve a diversified effect or all rage can be channeled into a single PowerUp providing a three times larger bonus.
For example, Shoot skill’s PowerUps are:
- Explosive Round — exploding bullets hitting nearby opponents
- Tar Shot — slowing enemies for 2 seconds
- Dum Dum Rounds — extra damage
Players can decide to use all PowerUps simultaneously and perform an attack causing big area damage that will also slow enemies down. Or they can charge only Tar shot to reduce speed of a single enemy for 6 seconds.

Inspired by Bram Stoker’s novel The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing is an upcoming hack’n’slash set in the noir-gothic environment in which players control son of the famous vampire hunter as he travels throgh “a world of monsters, mystery, and the marvels of science”. The game is set for release this august on Windows and XBOX 360.
