New Thrustmaster Licensed Xbox 360 Pads Offer Ultimate Precision

Thrustmaster are to release two new official Xbox 360 licensed controllers coming to the UK in September this year.

The new controllers offer some unique selling points, and promise to be very precise and durable to meet the requirements asked for by the most demanding gamers out there.

The first controller to be released is the GPX LightBack. This pad features innovative real-time visual information, with precision gauges (8 built-in LEDs) and a light feedback feature within the ministicks.
The backlighting has the capability to illuminate in rhythm to in-game events (firing rate/impacts sustained, etc).
The GPX LightBack also has two high-frequency vibration motors built into the grips to offer a better sensation while playing, letting you feel the impacts, and shocks in whatever type of game you wish to play.

The second controller to be released is called the GPX and doesn’t offer the lights the LightBack offers. It does however have everything else the other offers, so if you feel you don’t need the lights; this is the pad for you.

Features shared between the two then include ministicks with a genuine rubber textured non-slip surface which have precision levels twice greater than most current controllers available on the market, thanks to optimized firmware.
The two long, curved progressive triggers give you excellent control, in for example racing games giving natural progressive resistance levels.
The cross-shaped D-Pads also offer extreme precision in all 8 directions.

Of course, you also get the Xbox Guide button offering the usual 4 LEDs, X,Y,A,B, start/select buttons, and a built-in connector for headsets, and such.

One feature that stands out on the Thrustmaster GPX compared with the GPX LightBack seems to be with the vibration motors. The GPX offers a low-frequency motor for stronger jolts on one side, and a higher frequency motor for other effects on the other, whereas it seems the GPX LightBack offers only two high frequency motors.

Expect the suggested retail price of the GPX LightBack to be £39.99, and the GPX, £27.99.
