New Tomb Raider Multiplayer map packs details

Throughout April and May Square Enix will be releasing three new multiplayer map packs for Tomb Raider Multiplayer mode. The packs are the 1939, Shipwrecked and the Caves and Cliffs multiplayer map packs and by the time this comes out the 1939 pack will have been released.

First let’s start with the 1939 pack which comes with two new maps and will cost players 320 MS Points or $4 on PS3 and PC. The two maps are called Dogfight and Forest Meadow.

The dogfight pack hails back to when the island was used for secret experiments during WW2 and will take place in a bunker. Meanwhile the Forest Meadow map is the polar opposite and is filled with open meadows compared to Dogfights claustrophobic bunker.

Next there’s the Caves and Cliffs pack which is currently available on Xbox 360 and will be available later this month on PS3 and PC. The pack contains three maps which are the Scavengers Cavern, Cliff Shantytown and The Burning Village and the pack will cost 400 MS Points.

As you can clearly tell from the filter, this is part of the 1939 map pack

The most interesting sounding map in this pack however is the Burning Village map, which takes place in a burning ancient Chinese village. This will make things very interesting and also very dangerous.

Finally there’s the Shipwrecked map which will be available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in early May. The pack will contain two maps which are called Lost Fleet and Himiko’s Cradle. A  price has yet to be revealed, since it only contains two maps, we would imagine it will most likely cost players 320 MS Points or $4.

The Lost Fleet map takes place on a beached ship and the Himiko’s Cradle map will take place in a ancient temple.

These new map packs should help keep life in the Tomb Raider multiplayer mode for a while but I have to ask, what do you want to see added to the Tomb Raider multiplayer mode?
