It’s a well known fact amongst Nintendo fans that New Super Mario Bros 2 will officially be released on August 19, 2012. However Nintendo has since stated that the four weeks leading up to the launch will be referred to as The Month of Mario. Not only a catchy name, Nintendo will also be dropping the price of one Mario game per week in the Nintendo eShop, as celebration for the new title. Fans can enjoy the discounted price of each game for an entire week, all the way up until the new Mario’s release.

New Super Mario Bros 2 follows the traditional 2D style of side-scrolling adventure and coin-collecting fun as the classic characters return once more. The level’s are again back to being flooded with gold coins, requiring players to jump and navigate platforms while grabbing every scrap they can find. Fan favourites such as “Raccoon Mario” will make an appearance, and Co-op gameplay via a wireless connection will be available from the get-go.
