Nintendo loses the battle for control over WiiU.com

Looks like it is time for Nintendo to get out the cheques

The site Fusible has confirmed that the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) has denied Nintendo the right of control over a domain called WiiU.com.

Nintendo filled a Cybersquatting complaint against WiiU.com which is registered to a company in Massachusetts back in February.

Another thing mentioned by Fusible is that before Nintendo started their attempt to take over the site WiiU.com it was actually put up for auction but it looks like Nintendo are going to have to pay a lot since going through all this trouble clearly shows their interest in the domain.

While no reason has been given yet as to way Nintendo lost the case which everyone was expecting them to win my guess is that it might have something to do with the fact that WiiU.com was registered back in 2004. Call it a hunch. Still though considering that Nintendo is as big a company as they are I find it odd that WIPO hasn’t mention why yet.

Nintendo are not the only company with this problem as a little search shows that there is a online auction site called PS4 or Price Search 4.
