Take up arms and prepare to defend the world from a mysterious deadly plague in the new third-person shooter Scourge: Outbreak out now on the Xbox Live Arcade.
Scourge: Outbreak is built with Unreal Engine 3 and puts the gamer in charge of Echo Squad, an elite group of mercenaries hired by The Tarn Initiative to fight against the Nogari Corporation.
Bit Box Games and Tragnarious Studios have combined their efforts to create a unique and fast paced third-person shooter unlike any seen before.
Taking place in the near future, Echo Squad is stranded on a Nogari island after being attacked by an unknown force. Gamers must use their skills and firepower to stay alive and defeat the aliens that have infested the Nogari facilities.
The campaign supports four-player co-op and each gamer can join in and quit out as they please. AI will take over if any player decides they need a break or cannot handle the enemy onslaught. Matchmaking makes it quick and simple to find a game, or let players join in with you.
Scourge: Outbreak features four experience categories with ten ranks to level up. Players in the co-op mode gain XP by intercepting enemies attacking allies, or reviving fallen teammates on the field. Increasing this rank unlocks useful gameplay perks such as shared radar vision, faster revives and longer bleed-out times. Each perk help the squad survive longer and make each member more effective in combat.
There are also quick combat ordering systems in the campaign for Scourge: Outbreak. These orders can be given to both players and AI squad members through both instant orders to the nearest available teammate and orders to specific members.
Scourge: Outbreak is out now on the Xbox Live Arcade and costs 800 Microsoft points.
