PixelJunk 1-6 Coming to PC

Q-games, the developer behind the PixelJunk series, revealed on their developer diary plans for a PixelJunk 1-6 PC release. The new project’s codename is 1-6, which is sort of boring as far as codenames go. Why not Ratchet Alpha or Hawk Cannon? Cool names that could be used for secret weapons or experiments. Nobody is going to look at 1-6 and think it could be a name for a president, and that’s what makes codenames cool.

PixelJunk 1-6 is being developed exclusively for the PC, and the developer diary will note the challenges that the team faces as they try to create their new game.

Q-games is comprised of four people, and four people can work for a barbershop quartet or a juggling act, but as far as making games goes, four people is sort of small. “No. 6 is a go!,” says Q-Games president and founder, Dylan Cuthbert. “We’ve decided to reveal all in our new exciting blog about our next PixelJunk title. You’ll see how feature ideas seemingly materialize out of thin air and which ones make the cut, all accompanied by lots of cool concept art! It’s a blow-by-blow exposé of the game development process here at PixelJunk HQ.

” Rowan Parker, lead designer on 1-6 says “People will see what an indie studio looks like completely exposed to the wind,” he says, adding “PixelJunk fans are welcome to jump in and comment on what they like most, to help shape the course of PixelJunk 1-6!”

PixelJunk 1-6 is scheduled for release in 2013.
