Rise of the Triad Coming Back

Apogee Software, the folks that brought us Duke Nukem™ and Wolfenstein 3-D™, and Interceptor Entertainment stunned everyone with their announcement about the remake of their classic FPS Rise of the Triad. Not only will Rise of Triad include a full single-player campaign and multiplayer experience, but it will also feature some improvements in gameplay which will make it better and more enjoyable to the player.

“We were seeking a strong, independent, hard-working development partner to herald the eagerly-anticipated return of Rise of the Triad. We have indeed found that partner in Interceptor Entertainment,” said Apogee’s co-founder Terry Nagy.

“We are all about fast-paced action and this was simply a perfect match for us as fans of old school shooters,” said Frank Schreiber, CEO of Interceptor Entertainment.

Powered by Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3, Rise of the Triad will surely be a breath of fresh air for fans of old school shooters.

Rise of the Triad is set to release on Steam some time later this year and will include some pretty enticing features. Players will be able to choose from five different characters of the H.U.N.T (High-risk United Nations Taskforce), each of which play differently from the other. A 20 level single-player campaign waits to be conquered; and a full arsenal of weapons such as the Flamewall, Drunk Missile, and Excalibat are at the player’s disposal. Unique maps keep multiplayer fresh and fun. There are tons of secrets and hidden areas just waiting to be discovered. The original soundtrack has been revamped with heavy metal, or if the player so chooses, there is an option to play with the original sounds and music.

Apogee and Interceptor also promised more gore and blood with complete character and enemy dismemberment, the ability for players to build and create their own levels and share them via Valve’s Steamworks, over 100 achievements with worldwide leaderboards to keep track of you score, and so much more.
