Rising Storm, the latest version in the Red Orchestra franchise, will have its boxed retail-version hit the shelves in the UK, Greece, and South Africa on June 21, 2013. Unfortunately for any Australians out there, your date is still to be determined. Publisher Lace Mamba Global also confirmed the price of the retail version at an acceptable £19.99. As a bonus, players who purchase the retail version of Rising Storm will also receive all the single player missions from Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad (DLC) for free.
Rising Storm takes all the gameplay, innovative features, and realistic audio and graphics of Red Orchestra 2 and brings them to the Pacific. Players will fight across iconic locations such as the famous island-hopping campaigns of the Pacific from 1942 to 1945. In addition, players will experience beach assaults, jungle fighting, close quarter night fighting and more across Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Saipan, among other historic hot spots. Even better, choose your army, American or Japanese, and battle it out online in a 64 player fight to the death.
Rising Storm brings a complete new set of 6 multiplayer maps and more than 20 new weapons, which include: the US Garand, M1903 Springfield, BAR, and Flamethrower; not to mention the lesser-known Japanese weapons including Arisaka rifles, Type 100 SMG and the “knee mortar”. Lace Mamba promises asymmetric warfare as the heavily equipped American forces battle the less equipped, but more ferocious Japanese army.
Key Features include:
• Large Scale Multiplayer Combat in The Pacific
• Experience iconic battles such as Iwo Jima, Saipan, and Guadalcanal
• Asymmetrical Gameplay: Far from the mirrored gameplay
seen in other shooters, both sides utilize historical weapon
sets and each have unique gameplay capabilities.
• WWII weaponry redefined – again
• Full Mod SDK and Steam Workshop Support
