All of your songs from Rock Band 3 can be played for free in the downloadable game Rock Band Blitz, available now!
Harmonix, developers of the Rock Band series just released the downloadable game Rock Man Blitz for the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. Since wormhole technology where we can send plastic peripherals from the factory to you via fax machine has not been conceived of yet, there won’t be any plastic guitars or USB microphones required to play this game. So you won’t have to worry about who sings off key now that everyone is playing through regular console controllers.
Rock Band Blitz will bring 25 songs for players to play through. 23 of the songs are all new to the Rock Band series while the last two (“Give it Away” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and “Spoonman” by Soundgarden) come from Rock Band 2. In addition to these songs, any songs that you created or downloaded from Rock Band 3 will be playable in Rock Band Blitz. Or if you do prefer to play a Rock Band game with your plastic guitar, the 25 songs included in Rock Band Blitz can be played in Rock Band 3. Any new DLC made for Rock Band 3 will be compatible with Rock Band Blitz.
Rock Band Blitz is similar to Harmonix’s previous games like Frequency, Amplitude, and Rock Band Unplugged. Players will be given a lane associated to an instrument in the song that runs through the streets of fictional “Rock City.” Each lane has markers representing the notes that instrument plays, and the player must time the button presses right when the markers pass by. Unlike previous Rock Band games, there is only a single difficulty level provided for each song in Rock Band Blitz.
Rock Band Blitz will be selling for 1200 Microsoft Points (about $15 USD) for Xbox Live Arcade and a similar price for the PlayStation Network.
