9Fruits today, a social game developer announced the launch of a game called Running Fever, on Facebook.
Running Fever puts players around the world against each other in a casual quirky arcade action game, with colorful cartoon graphics.
With the Summer Olympics right around the corner, this is your chance sitting at home on Facebook to compete for prizes, and experience some of the thrill.
You first create a custom avatar, and then use renewable race tickets to enter competitions, choosing 12 track’s (set in practice, stadium, desert, and ice settings) and then running against 3 other people at a time.
You can take use of special skills and items, as you compete to finish 3 laps in the fastest time, whilst jumping hurdles and avoiding other odd obstacles in your path to succeed.
When you complete races, you earn league ranking, running experience, and Running Coins. These Running Coins along with purchased coins from cash, can be used to upgrade the avatar with new skills, items and clothing.
You can also play with computer controlled players, to complete quests and earn Running Coins.
In-game tutorials are also included if you are struggling to get to grips with the game.
With a nice simple user interface (a World Map allows you to select News, Post Office for any mail, Shop for buying items, My Room, and Stadium areas), and easy controls, Running Fever along with Facebook integration makes it easy to challenge friends and family to races against others.
Starting today you will have a chance to win a wide range of prizes. Sign on between now and August 25th 2012, and you will enter a competition to win a small sum of Facebook credits for playing, with 100 players randomly chosen this prize.
If you are really good at the game however, and you have the top times for a specific event map, you will walk away with a Samsung Galaxy S3, and other runner up’s will win hundreds of pounds in Facebook Credits to use as they wish.
