Yesterday on September 14th, GameSamba launched Shadowland Online, an online social strategy game developed by ZQ Games, that takes place in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world.
Shadowland Online offers a unique world with massive battles and the option for players to be creative and create their own expansive empires. The game's world is an open world type experience to players where they can interact with enemies and other players. Players start with a small city and they can eventually build it up to form an entire kingdom defended by allies. The game allows its dark fantasy setting to combine with ancient history through time travel by letting players fight alongside renowned heroes like Hannibal and Spartacus.
In the game, players are challenged to create armies to rise up and defeat the world’s undead led by their leader, Ossanal. Ossanal has led the fantasy world to be post-apocalyptic by invading God’s continent through a dark rift. This caused many successful empires to their ruin and their human rulers to be massacred. All that remains in the devastated world are three remnant races and their refugees. It turns out that in the game, the humans find a long lost item called a Eloi gem of the Elfen fairies. With this gem, the humans use its powers to construct the Gate of Ages to search in time for other gems and for reinforcements to defeat Ossanal.
Shadowland Online also includes minigames like farming, mining and exploration that are apart of the social aspect of the game. To be honest, farming, mining, and exploration reminds me of Minecraft.
