Ship-Building Rigonauts Now Available on Steam

Defend your hobgoblins with wacky weapons and engineering in the physics-puzzle game Rigonauts!

There are very few games that challenge players with simulation rules these days. Most of the games on the console are content with throwing challenges at us where we point and shoot at Russians; and mobile games vary in challenges from turn-based combat to impressing your kittens. But simulation games are a bit more rare as they require management of resources and/or building something to accomplish your challenge. At least that is the best way I can describe the rules inside Rigonauts, where you build your own war machine to success.

Rigonauts starts with a group of hobgoblins fleeing from their masters on the ship Rigo. Just before the hobgoblins got away from their slave owners, a storm strikes the Rigo and tears it down. Trapped in a hostile world with their masters, the Komandants, on their track, the hobgoblins have no choice but to rebuild the Rigo as fast as possible and fight!

Through the thirty levels of Rigonauts you will have to help the hobgoblins in fixing up the Rigo for combat. The Komandants’ naval forces could come from anywhere, so you have to use the best resources available for the task at hand. A variety of weaponry can be attached to the Rigo, such as machine guns, cannons, and flame throwers. Defend the hull of your Rigo with armor made of bones, wood, stone or metal. Command your hobgoblins to focus their fire on specific weak spots on the naval forces such as the commander’s seat, or taking out the guns on their own craft. You can even have the hobgoblins target the wheels of the opponent so they can’t move around so much, making them an easier target to take down.

Rigonauts is now available on the PC via Steam. An Android and iOS version will come later.
