SpongeBob Moves In. City Builder Game Goes Live On iOS

SpongeBob Moves In

The ever popular city building games has got a new outlet with SpongeBob Moves In, for all iOS devices.

A simple but addictive game for all the fans of The Simpsons: Tapped Out, Sim City and Theme Park.  If you have suddenly said to yourself “Wow that sounds incredible my son/daughter would love that!” But what about the horrible risk of them spending thousands of my hard earned pounds by simply clicking randomly?”.

Check out our SpongeBob Moves In Review.

Then I have two things to tell you, the first, you are not really supposed to start sentences off with the word ‘but’ secondly and the most important is that one of the first things you are greeted by when the game starts is an option to password lock that exact ability.

From the second you pay your reasonable charge of £2.49 you are greeted by a very stylised underwater world, and as someone who has only seen the show a few times by accident it took me absolutely no time at all to figure out exactly who it was that lived in a pineapple under the sea.

Spongebob needs you to build his Bikini Bottom

In the game it has been asked of you to build Bikini Bottom as your genius would dictate.  You have the perfectly reasonable task of making sure that all the residents maintain their happiness while also making sure that all their vast amounts of dreams and wishes come true. As you begin to unravel the story within the game you get to learn how all your favourite characters including SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Plankton, Squidward and Sandy, first arrived in the saturated city.  All the stories are written by the SpongeBob Squarepants team and feature in-game exclusive animations to progress the story.

“Millions of fans around the world experience the fun and magic of SpongeBob on television every day, and now they can live out their very own Bikini Bottom adventures with SpongeBob Moves In whenever and wherever they want.”

– Steve Youngwood, EVP and General Manager, Digital, Nickelodeon Group.

SpongeBob is now well into his 13th year as the most popular animated show on Nickelodeon with over 81million fans worldwide – he is a perfect choice for a game like this to focus on.

In SpongeBob Moves In, you can customize the look of your undersea city with a variety of characters, buildings, and accessories.

As you move from simple television viewer to caring iOS overlord you start to collect happiness in the happiness meter (collecting does not reduce the happiness of any of the characters, as it is more like a census of emotion than milking a cow for happiness milk).

Once their wish is granted, a treasure chest containing gold coins, happiness or a new recipe will appear to reward you, and who doesn’t love gold, happiness or food? When the happiness meter is filled, you will advance to the next level in the game, earning coins and game experience and unlocking more quests, as well as buildings and accessories to buy in the store.

During the game, you will earn gold coins and Jellyfish Jelly (which is a different currency) as rewards for performing a variety of activities like granting wishes, building buildings, making recipes, collecting rent and expanding their Bikini Bottom.

(After all that food, whose Bikini Bottom wouldn’t have expanded?) You can purchase additional land, ingredients, buildings and decorations using game coins and jellyfish jelly, or an iTunes account. (Only if you want your tiny excitable people to do so of course)
