Star Trek Online Legacy of Romulus
Einfo Games was sent this trailer for the new Star Trek Online update named Legacy of Romulus so naturally they assigned it to the Star Trek nerd.
To start off , I will give you some basic information on the game, it is a MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game). The game has two combat styles, ground which involves you and your bridge crew using hand held weaponry, abilities and kits. The other side of combat is ship based where you must align you ship to use abilities and fire the weapons.
The universe of Star Trek Online follows the new film with the destruction of Romulus and the relief effort.
The main chunk of this update is that they add another faction in the form of the Romulans they add another series to play through. One of the old factions the Klingons you can’t have a level one character you start at twenty but now you can start at one with an original character. You will also be more races, weapons and ships to play around with.
Also at around the forty second mark there is a shot of one Romulan ship firing at another Romulan ship (I think) which suggests that PvP might be a big part of this update. One thing that I can’t get my head around though is that the Federation was helping the Romulans through a reputation tree so if you helped them you would get rewards. So I can’t decide who the main enemy will be for the first story missions.
I will defiantly be playing this update to the game as I like this game and I think this is a good time to join as it gives you three factions to choose from off the bat and more options to customise you experience.
