If you're looking to step into the fray of X-Com:Enemy Unknown early and own a PC, look no further. 

On the 24th September, 2K Games announced that a free, playable demo of X-Com:Enemy Unknown will be available to all Steam users. 
 
The short demo for X-Com:Enemy Unknown will guide players through the first two tutorial levels of the campaign. Throughout they will learn the basic combat controls, gain some tactical know-how and get to grips with the strategic layers of the game as they battle to save humanity against an alien threat. The demo will also introduce players to the X-Com Base, where players can familiarise themselves with the soldier training and alien researching options to ensure they are fully prepared for the battles ahead.
 
If you're a fan of the series, or think it looks pretty neat, you might want to consider pre-ordering the game at select digital retailers to gain access to the Elite Soldier Pack. This pack contains some customisation options for your squad within the game such as:
 
Classic X-Com Soldier: The iconic blonde flat top soldier from the original X-Com games that any fan of the franchise will recognise.
