TERA gets a new expansion allowing players to fight to death in giant 20 versus 20 battles.
The new expansion, out today, introduces massive online battles. Gameforge is saying this is the largest updates since the game has gone free-to-play in February.
The update is titled Corsairs’ Stronghold and allows players to 40 characters to fight across a battlefield trying to either defend their stronghold or bring down the enemy. It is the largest instanced PVP area to date in the world of TERA. It is also pirate themed.
The attacking team must storm the stronghold, defeat the defenders and destroy a crystal inside. There are multiple ways of reaching this goal. They can carry out direct frontal attacks on the gates, climb over the stronghold walls with ladders or board zeppelins enabling them to attack the opposing bastion from the air. Both teams have powerful weapons that will aid them in their conquest such as tanks and cannons which make each battle a unique PVP experience.
TERA’s Corsairs’ Stronghold is open to those who reach level 30 and all players who enter area instantly bumped up to level 60. A matchmaking system has also been implemented that allows gamers to find games simply and quickly.
The world of TERA will be getting a ton of new features this summer as well. A few Include the long awaited Alliance System and the development of the Political System and guilds being given the opportunity to join one of the three alliances. These allow each faction to battle over control of the servers as well as valuable new resources. PVE players can also look forward to new dungeons.
Summer means it is time for festivals and the summer parties are looking good. Each one will have a small back story and provide players with new clothing and items perfect for the summer getaway.
